What to do when numbers are down 📉

Dealing with our Ls

The difference between your job and mine is that my numbers are very public.

You can scan our Instagram, Tik Tok and our YouTube and see how we’re doing.

Now, we’re not purely a viewership based business.

As I’ve explained to the interns many times, there’s valuable views and there’s trash views.

For example: When they get 20K views on an IG Reel about what they brought to the office for breakfast, that doesn’t go as far as 8,000 views on a video about a new tool they’ve built or for a video they made for a partner like Trove.

But still, when you’re a social first company, the numbers are out there.

FOX has announced record highs for World Cup coverage but CBS hasn’t posted their TV Ratings over the last month.

They can hide.

In today’s newsletter, I’ll elaborate on my very long response to Casey, share how we make fixes when things aren’t going our way and share the mentality when #s are down.
