Last Year’s $100K Bounty

On Friday, the NCAA announced that they will officially approve on uniform sponsorships effective August 1st, 2026.

The NIL Era has been a wild one. From no rules, to revenue sharing, to re-signing free agents in the portal?

Profitable college sports (football, basketball) are headed to professional sports and if that’s where we’re headed, I plan on helping out the athletic departments that need it.

A quick backstory:

Last year, LSU announced that they had signed an on uniform partner.

One of the perks of being a newsletter subscriber, I’ll sometimes drop some inside info.

LSU’s uniform sponsor, to no one’s surprise, is going to be Raising Canes.

Things may have changed but the original deal was ALL LSU uniforms (soccer, basketball, baseball, etc - for both men’s and women’s) in the range of $5M/YR.

After hearing LSU was going to be accepting jersey sponsorships, I sprung into action putting out a $100,000 bounty.

Whoever the best CFB team was that would let us put a Snapback Sports logo on their football jerseys was getting $100,000 from me.

Best for us doesn’t just mean record. We’re looking for a school who embraces content, is creative, and attacks digital media in the same way as us.

We got a bunch of inquires. Baylor was first. Baylor’s on uniform was more than $100K but I give them a lot of credit for the creative ideas they pitched.

We had conversations with Purdue, Syracuse, Penn, UNI, and even came to a verbal agreement with ECU.

I was literally in Italy FaceTiming with ECU trying to close the deal.

Note: Clay is now at UVA so if ECU is still interested, let me know!
